Dr. Kellman grew up in a medical family, with his father an MD and his mother a nurse midwife and nurse practitioner. He was influenced by both of his parents in their adherence to eating organic food fresh from the garden and living closer to nature. Dr. Kellman’s father, Dr. Neil Kellman, was practicing acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional counseling long before it became popular and also spent several years in the West Indies practicing tropical medicine and humanitarian work. Dr. Daniel Kellman’s fondest memories of his father were the times he accompanied him on house calls with the traditional black doctor’s bag and his father’s cool and collected way of handling patients in distress. Dr. Kellman always knew he wanted to be a doctor and when he discovered that he could become a licensed naturopathic physician, this path seemed to suit his background and his passions. He is now married and has a four year old son and one year old daughter. Dr. Kellman spends his free time with family and friends enjoying the great outdoors. He is also an avid tennis player and loves to surf when not land-locked.
